Amway NPC Spring 2016: A Warm Headquarters Welcome and a Very Special Recognition Ceremony
“You are the core of our business. You are why we are here. There can be no Diamonds or Emeralds without Platinums.”
Ruben Familia, Amway General Manager of the Caribbean, told IBOs this as he welcomed them to Amway World Headquarters at the May 2016 New Platinum Conference.
The new Platinums had just received a warm, enthusiastic greeting from employees who lined the entrance to World Headquarters as the IBOs walked a red carpet leading into the welcome center.
Kellie Ebersole from San Diego was moved by the welcome. “The reception was so cool and so emotional,” she said. Her husband Matt agreed. “It’s incredible to see employees shout and scream for us and a decision that we made. It’s very special,” he said.
This was the moment new Platinums waited for all week. They were here to see all the resources that stand behind their businesses. “There are 3,500 employees here who support you,” said Ruben. “We are here to help you.”
The Platinums got a behind-the-scenes, VIP tour of the Amway offices, manufacturing, research and development, customer service, and distribution centers. This was their chance to see the massive, modern, and technologically advanced resources Amway puts into the business. Amway scientists told them how the new Artistry Supreme LX™ Collection – the next generation of luxury skincare – was developed and what makes it work so well. The customer service staff decorated their center for the new Platinums, and formed a long greeting line to cheer them on and show their gratitude for the IBOs’ hard work. During the tour, the Platinums also had the chance to take pictures in front of their names on the Wall of Honor in the Amway North America offices.
“¡Es emocionante porque Amway sí cumple lo que promote y recompensa los esfuerzos por el arduo trabajo!” said Dan Diaz from Miami (It’s exciting because Amway delivers what they promise and rewards our effort and hard work!).
After a day at World Headquarters and some helpful sales planning with National Account Representatives, it was time for the most special and personal event of NPC: the recognition dinner and ceremony. The new Platinums ate an elegant dinner in a beautiful ballroom before each of them walked across the main stage to the cheers of their fellow new Platinums and Amway employees. “This made it all real and worth the hard work, but this is just the beginning. I’ll be back for my Double Diamond trip,” said Tyler Wallace from Portland.
The ceremony was a moving tribute that honored IBOs for their successes and accomplishments. When asked what they’d tell downline IBOs about NPC, many new Platinums said the same thing: “You have to get here.”
Gabriele Garcia from Fresno already knows what she’s going to tell downline IBOs about her NPC experience: “Tienen que vivirla” (You have to live it).

The average monthly Gross Income for “active” IBOs was USD $183 (in the U.S.)/CAD $206 (in Canada).
Approximately 53% of IBOs in the U.S., and 49% of IBOs in Canada, were “active.”
IBOs were considered “active” in months in 2013 when they attempted to make a retail sale, or presented the Amway IBO Compensation Plan, or received bonus money, or attended an Amway or IBO meeting. If someone sustained that level of activity every month for a whole year, their annualized Gross Income would be $2,196 (U.S.)/$2,472 (Canada). Of course, not every IBO chooses to be active every month. “Gross Income” means the amount received from retail sales, minus the cost of goods sold, plus monthly bonuses and cash incentives. It excludes all annual bonuses and cash incentives, and all non-cash awards, which may be significant. There may also be significant business expenses, mostly discretionary, that may be greater in relation to income in the first years of operation. For the purposes of the calculation in Canada, individuals who were IBOs for less than the entire year in 2013 were excluded.
