Annie Chen – Emerald

New York

Not wanting to settle for an average job in China, Annie Chen packed her bags and headed to New York.

There her dreams of a business career stalled when she became a single mom. To support herself and her children (Roger and Christina), she opened a restaurant.

When a friend told her about the AMWAY™ business opportunity and that it would soon be available in China, she was so excited that “I couldn’t sleep for months!” she says.

“I saw so many good things in this business – hope, happiness, growth, and helping others.” The products are great too. “I love the NUTRILITE® vitamin, mineral and dietary supplements and I am thrilled about the new Vitamin D3 2000 IU plus vitamin K2.”

Annie  knew her future awaited her in China.

It was there that she met the other half of her heart, ChunXiao Liu. Together, they quickly built their business to the Emerald level.

Then the government put a halt on sponsoring new IBOs – and Annie found herself back in New York.

“I am persistent and committed to this business,” she says. “When I get discouraged, ChunXiao reminds me that we’re apart for the short term (seeing each other two months out of the year), but we’ll be together much longer.”

Their shared vision has helped them reach Diamond in China and now Emerald here in the States.

The average monthly gross income earned by “active” IBOs was $115 (U.S.)/$181 (CAN.).

The percentage of IBOs who achieved Double Diamond and above qualification in FY08 was .0038%.

Based on an independent survey during 2001, approximately 66% of all IBOs of record were found to be active. “Active” means an IBO attempted to make a retail sale, or presented the Amway  Independent Business Owner Compensation Plan, or received bonus money, or attended a company or IBO meeting in the year 2000.

“Gross Income” means the amount received from retail sales, minus the cost of goods sold, plus the amount of Performance Bonus retained. There may be significant business expenses, mostly discretionary, that may be greater in relation to income in the first years of operation. The success depicted may reflect income and investments outside the IBO Plan.
