Enriqueta & Antonio Torres

Arizona

“When we first learned about this business, I didn’t see the big picture. I thought it was an opportunity to sell NUTRILITE® supplements,” says Antonio Torres. At the time, he and Enriqueta owned a nutrition store, but it often felt like it owned them.

Soon the picture became clearer. “What we were being shown,” he says of his sponsors, “was an opportunity to get rid of the store and all its headaches.”

For Enriqueta, it was an answer to prayer. “Our AMWAY business has given us time we were lacking – time as a couple and time with our four children.”

The business has also helped Antonio fulfill his father’s greatest wish. “My dad dreamed that we’d all be self-employed. Now my siblings and I are building AMWAY businesses of our own.

“For immigrants like us, this opportunity is unparalleled,” he says. Not only is it one of fastest ways to become an entrepreneur, it also offers something traditional businesses lack: unconditional mentoring.

“We love helping the people in our group!” says Enriqueta, who has experienced firsthand the benefits of being mentored to by their uplines.

Antonio’s also excited to have more time to write music, which he – along with family – performs at special events locally and in Mexico.

The average monthly gross income earned by “active” IBOs was $115 (U.S.)/$181 (CAN.).

The percentage of IBOs who achieved Double Diamond and above qualification in FY08 was .0038%.

Based on an independent survey during 2001, approximately 66% of all IBOs of record were found to be active. “Active” means an IBO attempted to make a retail sale, or presented the Amway  Independent Business Owner Compensation Plan, or received bonus money, or attended a company or IBO meeting in the year 2000.

“Gross Income” means the amount received from retail sales, minus the cost of goods sold, plus the amount of Performance Bonus retained. There may be significant business expenses, mostly discretionary, that may be greater in relation to income in the first years of operation. The success depicted may reflect income and investments outside the IBO Plan.
