Pankaj and Archana Gupta
Finding Peace and Balance – One Saturday afternoon, Pankaj and Archana Gupta “had nothing to do” and showed up at their friends’ house self-invited. Little did they know, their friends were holding an Amway business meeting.
“When I saw the presentation of the Amway Independent Business Owner Compensation Plan, the only question I had was, ‘Why would somebody not do this business?’” Pankaj remarks.
Left off the invite list because “we were making a lot of money” as software engineers and “seemed too busy,” the Guptas were intrigued by the opportunity. “We had nothing to lose and everything to gain” by building an AMWAY™ business, says Pankaj.
“I saw that I might be able give up my corporate career and stay home with our boys (Sharvil and Eshan),” recalls Archana. “That was my desire. I was excited about what the business might offer me.”
Through this business that dream became a reality. Now Pankaj dreams of “not having to go to a job. I have a great one, but with my parents in India, I’d like the choice of being able to pick up and go whenever I want.”
Because their business is growing internationally – including India – Pankaj gets to see his and his wife’s families about every six months. Archana and the children visit at least once a year. Both sides of their family are actively building AMWAY businesses of their own.
“We were going 90 mph on the road to nowhere,” Pankaj believes. “It looked like we had it all, but we discovered there’s more to life. Now our children will be able to live life fully and have more choices.”
Adds Archana, “We’ve found peace and balance through our AMWAY business, thanks to the help and support of our upline. No longer are we going in two different directions. The choice of time, money and peace of mind created through this business has beautifully enriched our already wonderful relationship!” she says, laughing.
The average monthly Gross Income for “active” IBOs was $202.
Approximately 46% of all IBOs were active.
U.S. IBOs were considered “active” in months in 2010 when they attempted to make a retail sale, or presented the Amway IBO Compensation Plan, or received bonus money, or attended an Amway or IBO meeting. “Gross Income” means the amount received from retail sales, minus the cost of goods sold, plus monthly bonuses and cash incentives. It excludes all annual bonuses and cash incentives, and all non-cash awards. There may be significant business expenses, mostly discretionary, that may be greater in relation to income in the first years of operation.
The approximate percentage of Direct Fulfillment IBOs in North America who achieved Emerald status in FY10 was 0.0281%.
