It’s A Matter Of Owning Life Instead Of Renting for Tom & Valerie Gonser

Tom & Valerie Gonser started business in January 1994, Prior Lake, Minnesota

Tom and Valerie Gonsar gave conventional careers their best shot. Ed was a manufacturing executive and Valerie an interior designer. In their years of working for others, they both came to believe that there had to be a better way.

When they were introduced to the idea of additional income, they took a serious look. Not once, but twice. Tom and Valerie decided to jump in: the second time with both feet. Tom says, “We loved the concept of creating an income stream to give us time and the money to do the things we want to do, when we want to do them.”

Valerie adds, “We quit the first time, because we didn’t have the commitment. The second time we were able to ‘retire’ from our day jobs.”

They call themselves retreads, meaning they’ve come back with an entirely new outlook. According to Tom, “We wanted our lives back. I love this country and what it stands for and this business represents the principles of free market and free enterprise.”

Tom and Valerie appreciate the mentorship they’ve received though the years. Valerie says, “We’ve had leadership training from the giants in our industry. They’re super people. I think Tom shares a great many of the same traits. I see it as he interacts with people in business and at home.”

Everybody wants what this business can offer, but everybody isn’t willing to work for it. Valerie says, “The opportunity is here for everyone– if we work at it. Then it’s an equal playing field for all.”

“That’s right,” says Tom. “Most people are looking for extra money. If you’ve got to work, do something more for yourself than selling hours for dollars.”
