José and Rita Rodríguez
We learned to dream big! – “Once we were in this business, we learned to dream big!” says Rita Rodríguez of the Amway™ business she has built with her husband, José.
One of those dreams came true when they adopted Adrianna, 5. “I wanted a little girl because we already had three great boys (Alan, 21; Alex, 19; and Jamil, 14),” shares Rita. “I even cut a picture out of a magazine and put it on my dream board.”
Two years later, they were approached by acquaintances who wondered if they’d adopt a baby girl born into their family. “I see her as our gift from God,” Rita replies.
Prior to starting their Amway business, life was too busy, “too routine” to entertain many dreams. Rita worked as a receptionist and ran a used toy business with José, a welder and independent landscaper. When they learned about the Amway business opportunity, they were attracted to the company’s principles, potential compensation, and “hanging around positive people who were going somewhere.”
“We understood right from the start the importance of making a strong team with IBOs upline and downline of us,” Rita says. “We’ve also gone to every seminar, convention, and open meeting available to us. It’s important to get the right information, which is why we point our new IBOs to the Amway Learning Center.”
These days life is still busy, but it’s also balanced with more time to pursue family interests. “Now we travel and all the boys – including José – participate in motocross,” says Rita. “We also love camping in our trailer.”
José is most looking forward to “joining Rita at home full time. We also want to buy homes for our parents and someday own a house on a lake.”
“Most importantly,” Rita adds, “we want our kids to understand that they can do great things by helping others achieve their dreams.”
