Kausi & Jey Selvarajah – Emerald

Jey Selvarajah can’t say enough about Amway’s “green” household products or the life-enhancing NUTRILITE® Vitamin, Mineral, and Dietary Supplements. Listening to him, it’s hard to believe this IT specialist was once dead-set against building an AMWAY ™ business.

Not that it mattered to his wife. Kausi understood her husband’s unbending nature, but moved forward anyway. “I really didn’t understand others’ viewpoints,” Jey admits.

More than anything Kausi “wanted to be home” with daughters Suruthi (10) and Ragavi (8). So despite working three jobs at the time, she jumped in with both feet to build her AMWAY  business.

As her business grew, so did her ability to control her work schedule. “It’s allowed me to drop two jobs and cut the third (as a health counselor) to part-time,” she says.

While Kausi was busy laying the groundwork of their AMWAY business, Jey was hard at work improving his attitude. “I listened to the CDs and read the books our upline mentors shared with us. The values and people and selling skills I’ve learned have changed me big time. When we’re willing to understand other people, we have more patience,” he explains.

And more peace. “Our girls have a brighter future than we did,” says Kausi. “Thanks to this business, we’ll be able to share so many great memories.”

The average monthly gross income earned by “active” IBOs was $115 (U.S.)/$181 (CAN.).

The percentage of IBOs who achieved Double Diamond and above qualification in FY08 was .0038%.

Based on an independent survey during 2001, approximately 66% of all IBOs of record were found to be active. “Active” means an IBO attempted to make a retail sale, or presented the Amway  Independent Business Owner Compensation Plan, or received bonus money, or attended a company or IBO meeting in the year 2000.

“Gross Income” means the amount received from retail sales, minus the cost of goods sold, plus the amount of Performance Bonus retained. There may be significant business expenses, mostly discretionary, that may be greater in relation to income in the first years of operation. The success depicted may reflect income and investments outside the IBO Plan.
