McMaid is Cleaning for a Reason – Kaye Lange
Kaye Lange, IBO Chicago, knows first hand the devastating effects cancer and the treatments can have on the patient and their family. So, when Kaye was at a seminar and had the opportunity to talk with Debbie Sardone, founder of Cleaning for a Reason – Making a Difference One Home at a Time (TM), joining on to help was really a no-brainer! Cleaning for a Reason is a nonprofit that offers free professional housecleaning and maid services to improve the lives of women undergoing treatment for cancer – any type of cancer. It is not financially based because as Kaye shares, “Cancer doesn’t care what your income level is.” Women submit applications to the organization, and they do their best to match the need with a professional housecleaning service in the woman’s area.
Kaye owns and operates McMaid Home Services, with six office in the Chicagoland area, with her son Jeff. Each cleaning organization that signs up to participate in Cleaning for a Reason is asked to provide four, once per month free cleanings for two patients at a time. Kaye admits that she has a hard time saying no, so McMaid provides two for each office, and Kaye admits “sometimes more”. They have provided 155 free home cleanings and received the “Maid Service of the Year” award for 2010 from Cleaning for a Reason.
When asked if AMWAY products are used in her service, she says, “Yes!”. “There is nothing like PURSUE Toilet Bowl Cleaner to get rid of hard water stains and rust!”
Kaye admits that the thanks and level of appreciation they receive from the patient and their family is “well worth it.” She challenges, “If there are other IBOs out there that provide professional cleaning services, sign up with Cleaning for a Reason to help. The waiting list is ‘way too long’ and we have an opportunity to make someones life a little easier for a while.”
