Melissa and Paul Watson
Care and the rest will follow – “We knew that we wanted something else, something outside the monotony of work,” says Paul Watson, who worked in the airline industry. He and Melissa, a manager in the insurance field, put in long days at work and wanted more control over their time.
After doing a lot of research, the couple packed their things and moved to Florida. They were prepared to open an automotive shop – since Paul and several family members have expertise in that area – until “our location was bought out from under us,” he says.
They took that as a sign. “Paul’s good friend was building an Amway™ business, so we knew it was an option,” Melissa explains. They jumped in and haven’t looked back since.
“That first year was rough!” she says. “I had to wrap my mind around building a network marketing business versus a brick-and-mortar business or being a manager.”
Paul had his own challenges. “I didn’t like to talk to anybody!”
He and Melissa credit their upline and the use of Business Support Materials for helping them succeed. “The Platinum trip was a turning point for us,” he remarks. “We had more belief in the business than ever!”
Since then, their conviction and commitment have only grown. “We live by the motto, ‘People don’t care how much you know until they know how much you care,’” she says. “Our goal is always to figure out how we can help people achieve their goals.”
Paul has left his job and Melissa hopes to join him in the near future. “We’re eager to share everything we’ve learned with our son Patrick, his wife Julia, and our newborn grandson Giovan,” she comments.
“Our goal after Diamond is to buy a condo on the water complete with boat,” Paul shares. “We envision steak-and-shrimp leaders’ meetings on the water!” Melissa adds excitedly.
