Opportunity Beyond the University – Wayne Chi
Ontario, In his homeland of China, Wayne Chi earned a law degree and worked as a television editor. After immigrating to Canada, “I felt like I had no value in the current job market,” he says.
“My father told me my accomplishments would only come through the university, but after immigrating to Canada I found that’s not a guarantee.”
Wayne worked both in a factory and in home construction before returning to college to become an immigration law consultant. He owned his own firm at the time he started his AMWAY® business. Before that, “I was a customer of AMWAY products,” he says.
“The NUTRILITE® nutritional supplements have helped my health and energy,” he says. “I was under too much stress and it was affecting my sleep and my skin, and I believed they helped.”
After he and Iris married, Wayne decided to focus his energies full time on building his AMWAY business. “Big goals (like reaching Emerald), require hard work and dedication,” he says. He also wanted to be able to fulfill Iris’s desire to stay home with their baby.
“We can now set our own schedules,” he says. “I seldom set an alarm clock. I can stay home in bad weather. I can meet friends for coffee or dinner.”
When he reaches Diamond, Wayne would like to return to the university to earn a PhD in history, a subject he finds fascinating. He and Iris also want to travel more and build a second AMWAY business in China.
“This business gives us more opportunities to help reach our goals and dreams,” believes Wayne, “through hard work and dedication, my wife and I are making our goals and dreams come true step by step.”
In time, he hopes his father sees it, too. “I helped him buy a house recently, and that made him very happy!” he remarks.
