Providing a hand up – Tim Goad & Rex Renfrow
Tim Goad knows that offering a “hand up” can change a life. His father was homeless when someone offered him a hand up and changed the course of his life. Tim’s dad always told him, “You can make a difference” and Tim has done just that.
When Tim joined Amway as an IBO over 30 years ago, he was drawn to how it was more than just business, it was about building life together. Tim built his business and his ministry at the same time and through both he has been able to help change the lives of kids in 23 cities in the U.S.; he has been able to lift, build, and challenge leaders around the world, and he has created a presence in Haiti for the last 15 years.
Tim, with many supporters, was able to construct a 6-room medical clinic in Cap Haitien, a 10-hour trip from Port-au-Prince. The clinic provided basic medical care for the local residents, but after the earthquake many traveled the 10 hours to receive care at the clinic. Tim believes many miracles happened after the earthquake. He would receive calls “out of the blue” offering food donations to Haiti that he would be able to deliver on day trips. One donation was for 200,000 meals if Tim could get the food items to Haiti…he did with the help of Rex Renfrow, also an IBO, and dear family friend.
Tim saw a need to partner with the medical clinic and the schools to get the right nutrition to the children so they could learn, and on several occasions has delivered NUTRILITE® kids vitamins to the schools.
“I love sneaking up on people and lovin’ them,” and he does that with his wife, Gaye, son, Blake, and daughter, BreAnn. The family is able to bring hope and inspiration when they share their music and their lives to “make a difference” for people all around the world
