Raj and Deepthi Kalavacharla
“How many people are better off because of Amway?” asks Raj Kalavacharla. “I’d like to see the research on that.”
Not only does Amway allow independent business owners to build their enterprise as big as their dreams will take them, it also “offers the best products in the world,” believes Raj, a statistical analyst manager.
“Most companies in Corporate America are based on the management of people,” he continues. “In this business, it’s about leadership, creating world-class leaders.”
The prospect of being mentored in such an environment deeply appealed to Raj when he first learned about the AMWAY® business opportunity. “I also wanted to create some financial stability since I was about to get married and the industry I’m in (information quality) is very fickle.”
Deepthi, an IT analyst, loved Raj’s “visionary thinking” from the beginning. “I was very excited to join him in this venture,” she says.
“She’s the reason we stabilized our business,” Raj replies affectionately.
Last September, the couple welcomed their first child, Advai. “We were able to hire a live-in nanny for our son, thanks to our AMWAY business,” says Raj. Because of the security their business provides, Deepthi was also able to negotiate 11 months of maternity leave.
Raj and Deepthi take pride in supporting Raj’s parents and helping his father start a school in India, something “we could never dream of doing without this business,” he says.
While both look forward to traveling more, they’re most excited about cultivating new leaders in their business. “If we as leaders don’t have a big dream, we’re automatically undermining what our team can accomplish – in effect, putting a lid on their dreams,” Raj says. “So we’re dreaming big. We want Amway to create a new pin just for us!”
Deepthi agrees with Raj when he states, “To see people blossom in front of our eyes, that’s worth more than any paycheck!”
