Sing Choi and Chuin Chew
Working on their own terms – When Sing Choi and Chuin Chew came to the U.S. 15 years ago, they arrived with “big dreams of making money to support our family back in Malaysia,” she says. The “only way” they knew of doing that was working in a restaurant. Both put in demanding 15-hour days, he as a cook, she as a waitress.
Then they learned more about the AMWAY™ business opportunity through their future sponsor. “My parents had been IBOs, so I grew up using the products and sought them out after we got here,” Chuin explains.
“Our sponsor told me, ‘The more you work, the more you get from an AMWAY business. When you work for the restaurant, 15 hours gets you nothing but a paycheck.’”
It was then that Chuin decided to cut back on waitressing and put more time into their business. Sing has been able to reduce his hours at the restaurant as well. But they both like to keep their foot in the door there “because you establish relationships with the customers,” who are often open to trying AMWAY products, she mentions.
Chuin’s been amazed at “the amount of knowledge I’ve learned” through product training and the good feeling that comes from helping others through her recommendations. “We sell a lot of NUTRILITE® nutritional supplements and eSpring® water purifiers,” she says.
As she and Sing continue to buy back time, they look forward to vacationing more. “We love to travel, but haven’t been able to do much because of our jobs at the restaurant,” Chuin replies. That’s why “we are so grateful for the first-class Achievers trip every year!”
Today, life is full of promise and big dreams once again.
“I don’t worry about losing my job anymore,” she says. “Our AMWAY business has changed our lives. It’s wonderful that we get to work on our terms from now on.”
