Timothy & Lynn Field – Emerald

Virginia

As the recession persists, Tim and Lynn Field see new ways of thinking about earning an income emerging and how it’s affecting their AMWAY™ business. They say prospects, whom may have had little interest in the business a year ago, are coming to meetings again – but now with wide-open minds.

“A large percentage of IBOs engage in the business opportunity while also still employed,” believes Lynn. A topic often discussed is how anyone’s job situation could unexpectedly change and why a back-up plan might be a smart idea. “People want security in their life. Supplementing current income by becoming an IBO is a great option”, believes Lynn.

Tim left his teaching job last year to work the business full-time, “Teaching is still my passion and I still am able to teach in our business.”

To increase retail sales in their group, the couple runs ARTISTRY® Skin Care clinics and emphasizes sampling. Lynn says, “Once someone tastes one of our NUTRILITE® Snack Bars or XS™ Energy Drinks they’re hooked. It’s simple: give samples, follow up, and take the order!”

Tim and Lynn say they love working at home and the flexibility it offers. With their first child, they share the peace of mind that they have chosen not to rush back to the workplace but stay home.

The average monthly gross income earned by “active” IBOs was $115 (U.S.)/$181 (CAN.).

The percentage of IBOs who achieved Double Diamond and above qualification in FY08 was .0038%.

Based on an independent survey during 2001, approximately 66% of all IBOs of record were found to be active. “Active” means an IBO attempted to make a retail sale, or presented the Amway  Independent Business Owner Compensation Plan, or received bonus money, or attended a company or IBO meeting in the year 2000.

“Gross Income” means the amount received from retail sales, minus the cost of goods sold, plus the amount of Performance Bonus retained. There may be significant business expenses, mostly discretionary, that may be greater in relation to income in the first years of operation. The success depicted may reflect income and investments outside the IBO Plan.
