VIP Tour of Amway – Day 2

Tour guide Norma kept us on schedule and shared her vast knowledge of all things Washington as VIP Tour of Amway winners, David and Barbara Butterfield and Jerry and Karen DeBlaay embarked on day two of their trip.

The atmosphere was subdued as the group paid homage to the sacrifice of so many men and women throughout the decades at the World War II, Korean and Vietnam War memorials; so humbling. They celebrated another kind of freedom with an afternoon tour of the Newseum, a museum dedicated to freedom of information and news history.

A few minutes to relax and change and they were off to photographers and flashing bulbs at the VIP Reception for the U.S. Dream Academy’s 11th Annual Power of a Dream Gala. Dinner was a sparkling affair with appearances by celebrity Chef Jeff Henderson, television personality Lamman Rucker, Heisman Trophy winner Mark Ingram, the spectacular recording act, Mary Mary, 2012 Miss America, Laura Kaeppeler, and Amway’s own Candace Matthews and Jim Payne.  Kathy Victor, this year’s IBOAI Chairman, brought the team to its feet when she was presented with this year’s Legacy Award.
