Zhiteng Ma and Xueyun Lin
Confidence in the future – Before striking out for Canada in search of “a better future,” Zhiteng Ma and Xueyun Lin grabbed hold of the AMWAY™ business opportunity.
“We learned about Amway just before we left China,” says Zhiteng. “The sincerity of the business is what attracted me. The Founders’ four fundamentals of Freedom, Family, Hope, and Reward are what a business should be based on,” he believes.
Like many educated immigrants, Zhiteng and Xueyun ended up taking factory jobs in their new country due to a language barrier. In time, they connected with upline mentors in the AMWAY business who guided and encouraged them.
Surprisingly, one of their biggest challenges was sharing the opportunity with the large Chinese immigrant community in nearby Toronto. “We speak a different dialect than most of them,” Zhiteng explains.
Still, they persevered, believing with all their hearts in the Four Fundamentals and Amway’s “culture of teamwork.”
Four years ago, their income from their business surpassed that from their jobs, and they walked away without looking back.
“We’ve had to make many changes and overcome many fears,” Zhiteng says. “We’ve had to humble ourselves, overcome laziness, and become more outgoing. It wasn’t easy, but it does make us happy to see how far we’ve come.”
Today, they have time to enjoy sons Martin (5) and Austin (8 months). “We’re lucky that we can be there for them in ways most working parents can’t,” says Xueyun.
“We’re committed to sharing this good opportunity anywhere we can,” her husband adds.
That goal fits perfectly with their love of world travel. “Europe’s at the top of our list!” she remarks. Giving back to their community is important, too, “especially the poor and disabled.”
And because “we have more confidence in our future,” according to Xueyun, someday they hope to be able to indulge his passion for nice cars and hers for beautiful jewelry.
